This article illustrates the collaboration between an education sciences laboratory and a second chance school to develop a cognitive education project. The different methodological and organizational choices made in order to relate scientific inquiry, the decision-making process and pedagogical engineering are presented and discussed. The article concludes with a provisional assessment of this experiment, stating the effects on both educational activity and scientific production, as well as the difficulties encountered.
