A gendered perspective on pay satisfaction: Toward the creation of a measurement scale
Type de matériel :

Although aware that they earn less than men, women feel satisfied with their pay. Several studies have provided explanations for this paradoxical attitude. A range of models of pay satisfaction have adopted a quantitative, positivist approach that ignores factors that women take into account when making judgments about their pay. On the basis that this approach is flawed since it ignores the gendered nature of pay satisfaction, this work takes an alternative position and aims to address pay satisfaction from the perspective of women and to incorporate internalized gender relations. By adopting Churchill’s paradigm, we aim to develop a gendered measurement scale for pay satisfaction, following an exploration that will allow us to refine the concept and clearly define its facets.
