In this article, the author questions theincreasingly narrow or distended connections that sociopsychology has maintained with the fields of education andtraining over the course of time. First,he sketchs a panorama of the evolutionof links between sociopsychology andtraining, as they appear from the analysisof the contents of the review Connexionsduring the last thirty years. Then, heshows how much the recent history oftraining has been characterized by a continuous process of rationalization. Thishas taken form in the growing influenceof procedures imported from the engineering sciences and has shaped the relative loss of influence of sociopsychology.Finally, he sets out clearly the impassethat this unlimited movement of rationalization leads to, and the role that clinicalsociopsychology can play in reinventinganother way of training.
