Distance learning opens new perspectives in our psychosociological practices. Many obstacles can be identified, but there are also tremendous levers, particularly when it comes to distance mediation. The “remote object” method is one of these. It is an innovative technique for group dynamics. This article will present the context in which this method was conceived, describe how it is used at a distance and consider the effects it has on group dynamics and the group imaginary. To explore this, we will draw on our clinical experience of group training. Our reflections will be supported by a clinical illustration. This is part of a training course for counsellors and receptionists in mission locale.
