This is an article with two voices: that of a specialised educator in a child welfare service (ASE), and that of a trainer in the approach centred on the Empowerment of Persons and Communities (EPC) - this in order to shed light on the implementation of this approach in a constrained context. This is an experience of support with a judicial mandate in child protection in EPC mode. A mother (Mrs. A.), whose three children were placed under a legal measure, refused to send her daughter (B.) to an adapted vocational education section (SEGPA). With our approach, the objective is not to provide solutions at all costs, but to allow them to be built together with the person being accompanied
