In France, placement in a CEF (closed educational centre) is a consequence of a complex and painful educational path, punctuated by failure and exclusion. This failed encounter between the world of school and that of vulnerable adolescence, prey to the risks of precariousness and social injustice, is not without repercussions for the CEF resident. In addition to the disruption caused by the placement itself, and the darkening prospects for career guidance, educational level, in young people’s representations, is a highly influential measure in the construction, dissemination and management of stigma.
