Using the sociology of translation as an interpretative framework for a project aimed at implementing a public health service in schools in the Saulnois region of France

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2021. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The implementation of a preventive interview service in Affective, Sexual, and Reproductive Health in high schools in the Saulnois region of France aims to compensate for the lack of specific care services for adolescents. This project involves various stakeholders, including high school students, the potential future beneficiaries of the offer. Within the framework of our research, we are mainly interested in these students. The objective of this study is to analyze the evolution of the project, but especially to evaluate the preliminary responses of high school students. To do this, we mobilize the sociology of translation because this theory is particularly well suited for following the evolution of projects and the networks that are being set up. To answer our research question, interviews and participant observations were conducted to understand how students imagined the proposed service but also to learn about their views. The acquired data complemented that which was collected during a regional survey. The results indicate that the public are not well-informed and that, consequently, they cannot envision what this public health service will be like or begin to accept it. As a result, the success of the project may be jeopardized.
