Temptation As a Paradigm of Christian Culture: The Case of Dostoyevsky’s Work
Type de matériel :

Is temptation at the center of Christian culture as suggested by the temptations of Christ by the Devil, narrated in the Gospels? This is what Dostoyevsky seems to believe, most especially in The Brothers Karamazov, in which he aims to show that only innocent people are subject to these demonic maneuvers. This would also be, according to him, the situation of the Russian people, which he idealizes, contrasting it with the intelligentsia. In fact, recent history has shown that this alleged "innocence" of the Russian people was a fantasy of Dostoyevsky.
