From which criteria do learners evaluate the “organizational support” to their training? The case of adult learners in an ongoing higher education program

The issue we address concerns the criteria employees use to evaluate the so-called “organizational support” given by their employer when in training. In this study, we look at the types of organizational practices (“organizational support”) put in place when an employee is in training, and at the criteria from which these adults evaluate them. Our results allow us to put forward two hypotheses: 1) organizational practices that are supposed to support the training are diversely appreciated and evaluated; and 2) from this evaluation stems a global and individual perception of support. Thus, there can be no universal “support” of training.
