We consider constructivism from a theological and pedagogical point of view. next, we propose another model for catechesis, namely, the hermeneutic-communicative model. This approach does have some constructivist elements, especially as regards the plurality of interpretations, but also aspects that avoid the criticisms often made of the constructivist model. We present theological arguments for the hermeneutic-communicative model in contemporary catechesis.
