Many authors and clinicians point out a connection between symbolization problems and hyperactivity in children. This paper presents the results of a study aimed at identifying specific movements of symbolization through a sequential associative analysis of Rorschach protocols. The results suggest that a method based on discourse, content and sequence analysis may prove valuable in the study of symbolization because it makes it possible to see a dynamic process at work in vivo. In the present study, this method allowed us to identify different modes of symbolization through protocols collected from hyperactive children.
